About Slow Oak Labs
The research and editorial arm of Slow Oak Studio — publishing original analysis on creator economy dynamics, cross-cultural brand strategy, and executive positioning.
Our Mission
"We publish the research we wish existed when we started doing this work."
Slow Oak Labs exists because the gap between what brand strategists and marketing executives actually need to know — and what is publicly available — is enormous. Most published research on creator economy and cross-cultural marketing is either too broad to be actionable, too old to reflect current platform dynamics, or produced by platforms with obvious incentives to slant the data.
We publish analysis grounded in hands-on campaign work — drawn from the creator campaigns, market entry strategies, and executive positioning programmes we run for real brands and executives. We add context from public research, platform data, and primary market analysis. We form views and state them clearly.
Our primary audience is brand strategists, marketing executives, and founders operating at the intersection of Asian and Western markets — people doing genuinely complex work who need genuinely useful intelligence.
Editorial Standards
Practitioner-Grounded
Every piece of analysis is informed by hands-on campaign work. We do not publish theory about markets we do not operate in. When we say something works, it is because we have run it.
Source-Transparent
Internal data is clearly labelled as internal. External claims reference named, publicly available sources. We do not manufacture authority through vague citation.
Opinion-Willing
We publish our own views, clearly labelled as such. We do not publish only data and leave the interpretation to the reader. Analytical courage is part of what makes research useful.
Cross-Cultural by Design
Our lens is always cross-border. We write for readers who are operating between Eastern and Western markets — and we write from inside that experience, not from the outside.
Coverage Areas
Slow Oak Labs publishes research across the following strategic topic areas. Our coverage is deliberately focused — we publish only where we have real operational experience to draw from.

- ◆K-beauty, K-pop, and Korean consumer brand expansion
- ◆Asian consumer behaviour and diaspora community dynamics in Western markets
Data & Citation Policy
Internal data: Where we reference internal campaign data or analysis, we label it clearly as "Slow Oak Labs internal analysis" with the applicable time period. This data reflects real campaign outcomes across our client base and is not fabricated, but it cannot be independently verified by third parties.
External research: External statistics and research findings are cited with the original source organisation and publication year. We reference only publicly available research. We do not cite paywalled reports without stating that the source is subscription-based.
Opinions and analysis: Where we express analytical views or strategic recommendations, these are clearly authored as the perspective of the Slow Oak Labs Research Team and labelled as such. We distinguish between data (what the numbers say) and interpretation (what we think it means).
Updates: Articles are updated when material developments require revision. Updated articles carry both original publication and updated dates. We do not silently alter historical claims.
